COHASSET - On Jan. 23, at approximately 1:57 p.m., Cohasset Police received a 911 call from a citizen reporting that four males had just assaulted another male on Norfolk Road in Cohasset. A description of the suspect vehicle was broadcasted to responding patrols and a Hull police officer performing a traffic detail subsequently located the suspect vehicle on Jerusalem Road. After several attempts to stop the vehicle, the vehicle was finally stopped in the area of 449 Jerusalem Road. As the officer approached, two of the occupants ran from the vehicle and escaped into back yards on the west side of Jerusalem Road. Cohasset Police, with the assistance of Hull, Hingham and Scituate Police, established a perimeter and called for K-9 assistance from Scituate and Hull police while another officer interviewed the victim.
Preliminary investigation disclosed that the four male subjects had agreed to meet the victim to purchase a quantity of illegal drugs. After picking the victim up, the victim was physically assaulted by one of the occupants of the vehicle and robbed of the drugs that he had intended to sell to the four males. He was then told to exit the vehicle and was physically assaulted a second time on the side of the road.
The two suspects who remained in the vehicle were placed under arrest and at approximately 2:33 p.m., one of the suspects that had fled was apprehended in the area of Forest Avenue and Jerusalem Road. At approximately 3:23 p.m., a 911 caller reported seeing a male crouched alongside a house on Old Coach Road. Several patrols and two K-9 units were immediately dispatched to the area. As the officers closed in on the fourth suspect, he entered a Ford Explorer that was parked at a residence on Old Coach Road and drove off at a high rate of speed toward several police officers standing in the roadway before colliding with an unmarked Scituate Police vehicle. Following the collision, the fourth suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The Cohasset Police Criminal Investigation Division is conducting a parallel investigation into the drug distribution aspect of this incident.
The three adult male suspects were held overnight at the Cohasset Police station pending
arraignment at Quincy District Court on Jan. 24 on the following charges:
· Juvenile male, age 15. Charge: Unarmed robbery.
· Edward S. Long, age 19, 2 Friend St., Hingham. Charges: Unarmed robbery; failure to stop for a police officer.

·Ryan J. Cinquergrano, age 24, 161 Nokomis Road, Hingham. Charges: Unarmed robbery; resisting arrest.

Police Chief James Hussey said this was a great example of law enforcement, with the community's assistance, working together to take some dangerous felons off the street.
“Starting with the original 911 call, the dispatchers coordinating police resources from Hingham, Hull, Scituate and Cohasset, the continued calls from the public providing further information and the determined efforts of the officers on the street is a tremendous credit to all personnel involved,” he said.
